Sometimes we all feel alone. We wonder why things happen. We wonder where do we turn. There is no greater peace, than inner peace. So many times we may have heard preachers call us to repentance. Maybe we grew up in a church that told us all the bad things we do and all the bad things that will happen to us. Seems no matter what we do, things go wrong. We try, but if we ourselves don't falter, then the effect of others around us drag us down.

We try, but if we ourselves don't falter, then the effect of others around us drag us down.
Before you go running off, I urge you if any of the above applies to you, read on about King David.
Many times I have heard it said that David was a man after God's own heart. This always astonished me. The more I read the more confusing this statement became. Perhaps if we understand David's relationship with God, We might discover ourselves.
Some of what we learn about David. He might have drank too much. It is said, he danced naked in the streets. He was a schemer. We know he was a coveter. A voyeur. We know he was an adulterer. (Some believe perhaps a rapist. If not by force, by the pressure of his authority.) We know he was a murderer. (Not only did he plot a man's death. He influenced another to carry it out.) This was not just the killing of a man, but many men, for he arranged not only the death of one of his field commanders, but the man's whole unit with him.
These things occurred over a life span. My goodness, does this sound like a man of God.
If we judge by the standards of men, David would be as guilty as he could be. But you see, God has access to information that no man can know. For God perceives the heart of a man. Yes, here on earth man judges man based on what he did. Yes, God sees what we're doing also. Yes, there is accountability. But let's stay with David for now.
If you have ever heard or read many of the Psalms, you will have seen, what is going on with David. Yes, David, like so many of us are doing, fought a lifetime battle.
David loved God. David struggled with the world around him, against worldly influences and temptation. David recognized his wrong doings. He was repented and sought God. David was never happy in his sin. Perhaps today much of what he did would be called compulsive behavior or even normal. Nonetheless, it was then, and still is sinful conduct.
But God perceives the heart of a man. In David, there was not only the greatness of a King, but the tears of a sinner. David fell many times, but each time he sought God. What God could see, which we can not is that which was in David's heart.
David never fell down and laid there. He didn't blame others for his own action. He didn't blame circumstance or birth. He didn't place blame on inherited genes. He didn't clam to have an illness. He never excused his conduct to himself. He knew he was wrong. He had done something offensive to God.
| We have something in common with David. As God saw David's heart, so also he sees ours. As He loves him, so does he love us. You can find comfort, rest and never be alone again. Sounds too good to be true, But it is. If this page interested you, there are more to follow, Please follow the pages and be patient, new ones will be posted.
