Welcome

The Nitelites On

Hi, The sites found in the menu below have been

screened by me for their Christian content. If you

do not go beyond the link, you should find nothing

offensive. Some sites, however, have links to cards

which may not be suitable to your individual

standards. Please do not allow children to access

any site without you first reviewing the site and

satisfying yourself as to all the content accessible.

If you're not familiar with the various ways and

shortcuts of sending cards from AOL screen

names, look below the menu for my helpful hints.

About sending cards

Normally, most card sites will ask you for recipients

name and email, then your own. They will send the

card showing your screen name. This is an internet

card and will not show on your mail sent nor would

you know if your friend received it unless the card

site sends you notification. If your email is limited

as to who you will receive mail from, then you

might not be notified your card was picked up. What

I do is put who it's to, but use my own email address

for theirs. By doing this, you will receive the card. You

can then forward the email card to your friend. By

doing it this way, you can view the card to make

sure it is as you wanted and after you forward the

email, you can also check the status

to see when or if it was viewed. You would also be

able to unsend anytime prior to them viewing the

forwarded email. Another advantage of doing it this

way is, you can see if the email provides a hyperlink

to view the card. You know, a link you only have to

click which takes you right to your card. Some

card sites do not use hyperlinks. They have the URL

and card pick-up number. Sometimes people get

a little frustrated because there is no way to copy

and past both at the same time. Well, we don't

want that.

Here is what I do. I highlight and copy the site

address, then click forward. When the forward

window opens, I click the write area to move my

cursor there, then I right click and select insert

hyperlink. When the hyperlink window opens, I click

each section to move my cursor there, then I right click

and paste the address I had copied and click okay.

I then shift the forward window enough to see the

original email behind it. I click that, which puts

it in front. Now I can highlight the card pick-up

number and copy that. I then click the email forward

window, bringing it to the front where I place my cursor

below the hyperlink I made and right click and paste

the card pick-up number. I then type a message telling

my friend to highlight and copy the pick-up number

then click the hyperlink. Once at the site, they can

right click the pick-up number window and paste

the number they copied. Now it's not as bad as it

sounds, once you've done it a few times it's easy.

Your friend will appreciate your efforts and after all

isn't that why we're sending them a card, because

they're worth the time it takes, so why not make it easy

for them. If you want to try this and are having

problems, email me, or if you see me on line, give me

a shout. Sometimes when viewing your card on the

card site, you can send it by hitting the heart and

selecting insert in email. Word of warning,

sometimes the heart method looks like it worked,

but your friend will not be able to view the card.

Hope you find something you like.
