My friends, I have no doubt this is the most important page I will ever have the honor of writing. Because I believe this I want to present it to you without being side tracked. For this reason, I wish to make some personal statements to you first.
You have not seen many chapter and verse references on my pages. You will have to trust me when I say the reason wasn't because I don't know them or can't find them. I have left them out because I wanted to speak to you one on one. I wanted to do my best, without distracting you, to tell you how very much God loves you. I wanted to start at the beginning as if speaking to someone who had no idea about God or the meaning of things.
I have tried to avoid referring to any particular faith or denomination. I understand that for those of us who have heard one thing all our life, it is difficult to see what might be in opposition to what you were taught. For some, there is no background as far as a faith is concerned. Some of us turn a deaf ear because we expect to be condemned by what some term as do gooders. Sometimes we don't want to hear it because we harbor something in our hearts which we know will be said is in opposition to God's Will.
I dislike saying this, but I know so many souls have been turned away and perhaps lost, not because of what some Christians didn't do, but because of what they did do. I am reminded of Gandhi. Early in his life I am told, he had been in England studying law. He made a trip to Africa. While there, he attended a Christian service with his friend. The missionary there so enraged Gandhi, with what one might term Christian arrogance, that for his lifetime, he turned his back on Christianity.
As you know, he became the leader of the Hindu world, influencing hundreds of millions. I have no idea what the missionary said, but just think, had Gandhi been turned towards Christ. How might of that affected the millions of souls of India?
If at anytime in your life, you have turned away because of the treatment you received from a so called Christian or a Church, please set that aside. For no matter what you heard up to this point I tell you this, your relationship and your personal salvation is based on you and your one on one relationship with God. No single person living, no Church organization can come between you and God or charge you. Only you can do that.
I could go on and on telling you all the things Jesus said during His ministry on earth. I could go on citing places in the Old Testament prophetizing His coming. In time, God willing, we'll talk a lot more about the life of Jesus. The one thing I wish to focus on now is our relationship with Christ and through Him with our Heavenly Father.
I am going to make this blanket statement about salvation. Jesus is the the only intercessor so far as anyone's personal salvation is concerned. Yes, others can intercede for you through prayer. This form of intercession may bring about a protection, additional opportunities or might cause you to view Jesus in a light other than you have done before. Only Jesus can directly come between you and the consequences of your sins. For only Jesus, in God's eyes, has that right. It's why He came, why He suffered and died and why having paid the price, He can claim whom He will as his own.
If the last statement caused you to sit back and say, Are you saying only Christians can go to heaven? My answer is, that is not what I am talking about. I am saying whether people know it or don't know it, only Jesus can intercede directly to God to save a person from the consequence of sin.
By Grace are you saved, and this not of yourself. It is a gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Saved, if we missed it somewhere along the way, simply means, your name is written in the Lambs Book of Life forever more. You have by God's Grace been forgiven. Again I will add this. The price for sin must be paid. When we say forgiven we mean the price of your sins were paid for through Christ Jesus.
Later we will talk about Non-Christians and those people who in their lifetimes never even heard of Jesus, as well as those who may have heard of him, but were never exposed to the true doctrine of Jesus.
To every person is given a measure of faith. Whether you're saved or not, you have been given this. Every person has within them, a spirit which can lead them, in those life decisions God would have them choose. Because you possess these two attributes, they can, if you, a being of freewill allow them; To move you to, know and understand, that you can be or are saved.
Christ said seek and ye shall find, ask and it shall be given, knock and the door will be opened unto you. God is no respecter of persons, no matter who we are in life, we all stand before God the same. We have been given his gift of life, we have the opportunities to receive His Grace.
I have heard some say this. I don't believe God would condemn anyone, or I don't think a loving God would turn his back on good people just because they don't follow Christ. Jesus said this. There is one sin which will not be forgiven, that sin is blasphemy of The Holy Spirit. Many people have opinions what that means. Mine is simple. Blasphemy comes in many forms. For you to be saved, the Spirit must move within you. If by design you reject this moving of the Spirit within, you're rejecting His plea to you to allow yourself to submit to God's Will. The scriptures tell us God would that all men be saved.
I once lived in an area of high hills, My house was in a small valley between some of these hills. There were around twenty or more houses in this area, all on about the same level save one. The house behind and to the side of mine sat atop a hill that looked down on the rest of us. One day I was sitting on the grass talking to the man who lived on the hill, a nice guy, but also one who had questions. I will tell you what I told him and ask you the same question I asked him.
Look down at the houses below, imagine that because of something they did, every person down there has become infected with a deadly disease. All of them are going to die because their blood has become impure. Only you here above on this hill are not affected. Now suppose you discovered that if each of them were to receive a transfusion of pure blood they could be saved. .
You have a son, you know his blood is pure but to save all the people down below, you must have all his blood. Your son comes forward and tells you, if he can save all the others, he is willing to die in their place. With sorrow and sadness you drain the life's blood from your only son.
You divide the blood in syringes enough for all and go down into the valley below, going from door to door with the good news. Many rejoice, praising your son and accept his gift of life. Others mock the idea, they scorn you and your son. After you have been to each house, you return to the hill and look down. You look at the blood you still have and remember those who rejected your loving son's sacrifice. Now I ask you. Your son paid the price for all with his very life. Would you not rejoice with those who praised your son and accepted your gift, would they not be welcome on your hill. What of the others, the others who were given the chance to live and to accept your son's sacrifice and who laughed and scorned him and who are now dying. Would they be welcome on your hill also?
I am not going to attempt to write something here asking you to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and try to lead you in what some call a sinners pray. This is what I ask you to do.
I ask you to shut off or remove all distractions. I ask that you allow yourself to be governed by the Spirit within you. I want you to reflect on all the things we spoke of on all the pages leading to this one. I want you to think about your own life. Paul said if we obeyed all the law, if we did nothing but good work, if we lead a pure life, we have done only our duty. So what have you done. When your time comes, as all our time will, what have you done that earned you the right to enter the kingdom of God.
That's right, there is nothing we can do. Our salvation is a gift of God through Christ Jesus. Call on The Lord to fill you with his power of peace and the blessings of the Holy Spirit. Tell him you know that before him you stand unclean but, you ask him to to wash your sins away with the blood of Jesus. Call the name of Jesus Christ and ask him to come into your heart, to be your personal savior, Praise his name for his sacrifice and thank him for remembering you to the Father. Ask him to walk with you and be a guiding light in your daily living. There is no set wording, if the Spirit is moving you just yield to that guidance and you will be given the words that You need to say.
My friend, I pray this page has been of some service to you. There is no Single thing more important than your salvation. For today is today and tomorrow, tomorrow, they shall pass but eternity is forever. God bless ....
