WelcomeThe Nitelite is on

Well. my friends, we have come to a crossroad. I will confide in you my fear. My fear, that I would say the wrong thing, which could cause you to turn away and perhaps be lost forever. I have this one confidence, God loves you too much to let that happen.

You will hear the name Jesus among three major religions. Christians, who proclaim him Lord and Savior. Judaism, who refer to him only as a historical character and Islam, who say he is a prophet, a son of God, but not part of a Trinity.

Let me say this. Jesus is, and can only be, one of three things. He was either a liar, a mad man or The Son of God. There is no other category you could place him in. God gave to man, freewill. I am not here to slander others. I will and do however, proclaim Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.

Before we take another step, let's pause. When it comes to religion remember this, and by religion I mean an organization professing a creed or doctrinal concept of a spiritual nature. Religion in and of itself can not save us. Yes, there are those which claim they do. We, as children of God, can disagree on many things and still accept one another because we share a common concept.

This one thing we can not disagree on and still be in fellowship, one with another. This one thing is, By Grace are we saved and this not of ourselves. It is a gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now, don't get me wrong when I say we can't fellowship. I'm speaking about spiritual fellowship, which in no way means we can't be friends, help or care about each others welfare.

The concept we will discuss is a simple one. Once we sin we are lost. Some faiths believe we are born with sin. They call this original sin. This concept means even if it was possible for you to live a sinless life, you'd still be lost. This concept claims that an infant or small child who dies without baptism cannot enter heaven. The sin of Adam is being passed on to everyone.

Of course, if Christ was truly born as man and had an earthly mother, then this original sin would be on him also, would it not? If that was so, then he would be subject to the same penalty as other men. If such were the case, this would nullify his position as the Savior, his death would be related to his own original sin and not ours.

Now, I'm sure there are scholars out there that have some answer other than what I have said, but if they do, I would like to see it in scripture and not a text related to a particular faith. Christ was without sin. He was without sin at birth and He was without sin at death. (1 Pet:1:19) We'll talk more about this shortly. I am not going to give a lot of chapter and verse, for they would be too numerous. I will give some as needed.

When we speak of Christ as our Lord and Savior, many questions might come to our mind. No matter how much someone would like to shout these questions down and in doing so think they serve the glory of Christ, the questions, if valid ones, asked in good faith, should have an answer. An answer consistent with scripture. Let's make no mistake, about what Christ did. He presented himself as the unblemished lamb of God, who took away the sins of the world, .

We want to zero in on what Christ did and why. We also want to know what we must do and why. This will be the focus of our next page. Once we have settled this issue of our salvation we can then discuss questions that reasonable men ask.

Once we are saved, can we lose our salvation? What about those who lived before Christ; were they doomed, without hope, because they were not the chosen people? How about those who lived in some part of the world where they never heard of Our God, let alone Jesus? What is this doctrine known as Predestination? I have been slack in presenting these study pages. I pray God grants us the time and blesses us with the knowledge to know that which he would have us know. Till then....
